“Always the bridesmaid, never the bride” – such is the career of America’s hard-working character actors who rarely, if ever, get the leading role.

Writer and comedian Kevin Maher hosts a video variety show celebrating these unsung heroes of the silver screen. The multi-media comedy show looks at iconic character types like the sassy maid, the steely hit-man, the chubby best friend – and salutes the actors who play those thankless parts.

With Special Guests:

Professor Heather Hendershot (MIT, media historian)

Andrew Miller (curator, BASIC CABLE CLASSICS)

Ken Reid (comedian and host of the podcast TV Guidance Counselor)

Andy Webb (writer, StarTrek.com)

The long-running variety show from New York is making its debut at the Brattle this October. See why SyFy.com called Kevin “an insane genius.”
