Today marks the 78th anniversary of  the world premiere of KING KONG

The 1933 film opened — where else? — in New York City.  The film screened at the RKO Roxy and Radio City musical Hall.

The moving picture was met with great reviews and general amazement.

To celebrate the KONGIVERSARY, my kids and I are making the KING KONG drink.

RECIPE:
  • 1 Cup Orange Juice
  • 2-3 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter (chunky or smooth)
  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 1 Tablespoon Chocolate Syrup
DIRECTIONS:
Add peanut butter, banana and juice into blender or food processor.  Blend until creamy.
Pour “King Kong” into a glass. (In or out of focus.)
Add a swirl of chocolate syrup up top.
Drink your King Kong.
Have another.

“The 50th Anniversary of KING KONG

In 1983, the Empire State Building concocted a grandiose stunt to commemorate Kong.

A 50-foot gorilla balloon was affixed to the tower. But the balloon became torn during inflation and hung limply to the building’s spire like a huge garbage bag.
